I Witness the 7th Ward.

I Witness the 7th Ward: Celebrate Food, Stories, and Neighbors

Wednesday, September 30th @ 7:30pm
7th Ward Neighborhood Center
1943 Pauger Street

Celebrating the 7th Ward's History!

I WITNESS 7th Ward is a Story Mapping project in collaboration with Mondo Bizarro that seeks to open up living and breathing personal histories to a wider audience via live performance, digital story maps and a new cell phone walking tour.

This screening was made possible by a generous grant from
the Art Council of New Orleans.

via 7th Ward Neighborhood Center.

I'm SO with it. Born and raised, I'll always the 7th ward.

The "New" Traffic Boutique.

Well, not really. Same fresh gear, new look. Traffic is going for a more clean and simple look. I went down there to bless 'em with my artistic talent (haha) and it's really coming along nice. I'm excited to see the finished product.

Peep the process:

If you ever get a chance, go peep out the new look.

The Spill: Tone1y Performance.

I dug this video from my archives. Here's Toney performing "This Love" at the Howlin Wolf as he opened up for The Knux back in May '09. You guys need to get up on NOLA's [real] talent. I love this song!!

Peep:

Once again, not being biased, but he's really good! Toney is like my older brother and I always love to hear him sing. I still remember when I first heard him sing "Master Can You Use Me" in the On A Mission play at Greater St. Stephen. Omg!! Lol. I was in the 6th grade. If ANYone has that tape, up it PLEASE! Id die to see it. Like seriously. Lol.

Get familiar with Tone aka The One Y.

Riding With Caesar.

Co [aka Caesar] and I were coming from the daiquiri shop and were headed downtown. He wanted me to hear the latest from his and
J. Lyric's upcoming mixtape, More Than a Movement. It's gonna be hot! I LOVE this dude. We always have fun.

Peep the product:

Ive been knowing Co for years and he is one of my closest friends. Im not being biased, but dude's flow is ridiculous. From the first time Ive heard him rap, Ive caught chills; I still do. If you've been sleeping on this dude, you need to wake up because he's really about to blow the spot UP.

New Orleans Seafood Fest 2009.

Check out the scene from the N.O. Seafood Fest on Fulton St. by Harrahs Casino:

I was uber excited to see Sucre there. I tore that vanilla and strawberry gelato down -- but then it made my tummy hurt. But it was good while it lasted.

The Spill: Soul Rebels @ N.O. Seafood Fest.

The Soul Rebels performed at The New Orleans Seafood Festival this past weekend. It was pretty cool. The vibe was nice. People were having a good time, eating good food and listening to good music.

Peep:

The Spill: Jack Spratt Freestyles.

Rapper Jack Spratt freestyles on Snakes on a Plane Radio. When Jack realizes he goes a little too hard with the obscenities, he has to cut his flow short. It's funny! Nice flow, tho.

So, if you know Jack, you know he's something like a comedian, but dude can flow. For real.

The Spill: Drake, Kanye West, Eminem and Lil Wayne - "Forever."

Ive loved this song since I first heard it. Well, the ORIGINAL version. The new one is hot too. I didnt know too much about Eminem at first, and Im still not sure about that verse. It's like he just came in and started going crazy, effing up the vibe that was mellow. Kanye is always a winning situation for me. It's still a hot track, tho. Check out the video!

Peep:

Update on Em's Verse: I like it. His flow is nice, he was just too hype for me. But then again, that is Em.

Listen Up | PJ Morton x Tweet.

PJ is at it again. Check out his new song from his upcoming album entitled Walk Alone.

The track features the lovely Tweet. I am so happy to hear Tweet's voice on this track! It's been a minute since she's graced our ear. I love her voice and the two combined are one of the best collaborations I have heard in a minute.
